Calling All Survivors

self-improvement-books

I have had the good fortune of having some of my work featured on the blogs of others. I want to return their kindness. Sharing our individual stories is such a wonderful way to explore our journeys.

I would like to features personal stories of trauma on my blog. Specifically, what trauma have you been through and how have you handled it? I’m looking for honesty and openness. Where are you in your journey; at the beginning, the middle, or are you finding your way and discovering the path to healing? It’s okay to be mad, sad, happy, hopeful, etc. I have experienced them all and I understand.

So many bloggers have helped me in my path to healing and I want to give others the opportunity to share their stories. Please email your story, along with a link to your blog and a short bio, to: breakingsarah1@gmail.com. Please write “Submissions” in the subject line and let me know what name you would like to go by. I will try to share as many as I can. 🙂

  1. Sarah, this is an excellent idea. I’m not a survivor, myself. My husband and I have adopted traumatized kids from foster care. Seeing your reliance in your journey gives me so much hope for their futures. It helps me to understand what they are experiencing. You are an inspiration!

    1. You know, I hadn’t considered my story helping those dealing with abuse survivors – it gives me yet another reason to hope to make a difference in the lives of others. There have been too many times when I have wished that others could somehow understand me and the way I am. It means a lot to me that as adoptive parents, you are willing to try to understand. Understanding can completely change how we react to others in need. HUGS!!

  2. I have to be honest here, I’ve had my own traumas in life; I just haven’t found the courage to share them yet. But…reading the post of those people like you that are willing to share and be honest, really encourages me to do the same. It will take some time, however.

    1. I am a true believer in ‘everything in its own time’. You will know when you are ready to share and if it never feels right, that is ok too. Take all the time you need sweetness. Keep finding strength in others and I hope you find your own. HUGS to you!!
