A Poem – “Liberation”

I jumped over a tiny pond

but never came down to land;

instead the wind swooped me away,

guiding and holding my hand.

The cresting wind was all I held

as I flew the fluorescent sky;

I was doing the impossible,

no thought as to how or why.

No longer did I hold the wind,

but on the water I stood.

So freely, never to sink;

I was doing what

no one thought I could.
